Frequently Asked Questions
-
What makes these tires better than the competitors?Indoor tracks offer our engineers a unique challenge of developing a tire compound to cover several different track surfaces. When new facility buildings are leased or built the track area surfaces are treated with various methods to give the track smoothness and grip. DeCuzzi Tires are compounded to give grip under these conditions. They have the long lasting wear that is required in the type of concession venue that a tire might see 10,000 cycles in a month.
-
Is it true these tires are Italian? The rubber formula and tire design are Italian.
-
Is there a freeze crack advisory?Yes: This advisory addresses proper storage and use of DeCuzzi tires in cold conditions. Our tires may experience rubber cracking if the tires are transported, crushed, flexed or stressed when frozen. The following guidelines should help you avoid this problem. 1. If tires have been subject to 32° F or less allow a minimum of 24 hours for them to warm to room temperature (about 74° F) before attempting to mount. 2. Always store tires indoors at temperatures above 32° F. 3. Always use different tires for winter or prolonged storage. 4. Do not use tires that have evidence of freeze crack damage.
-
Is there a warranty?WARRANTY POLICY: Due to the different conditions to which DeCuzzi Tires are exposed, and due to the nature of racing, DeCuzzi Tire makes absolutely no warranty, expressed or implied, as to the fitness for a general or particular purpose or of merchantability in connection with any offer or sale of DeCuzzi Tires. "DeCuzzi Tires are sold as is". Our tires are designed solely for Karting Racing purposes and are not tested or labeled to meet FMVSS109/ECE36 safety standards. It is therefore not only dangerous but also illegal to use race tires on public streets or highways.
-
Do you recommend chemical treatments?DeCuzzi Tires DOES NOT recommend any chemical alteration of the tire carcass and/or tread compound, such as tire "soaking" or use of tread "softener. DeCuzzi tires does not recommend the physical defacement (removal, altering or covering), of tire sidewall markings in any manner. Failure to comply with this warning could result in premature or catastrophic tire failure and may result in serious injury or death.
-
What is the service life?Old tires can fail in use causing loss of vehicle control and personal injury. Environmental conditions like exposure to sunlight, temperature extremes, exposure to automotive fluids solvents and atmospheric pollutants speed up the aging process. We recommend that new tires should be put in service within 2 years of date of purchase. Used tires have a shorter service life than new tires. Infrequent uses and poor storage speed the aging process.
-
What if you don't carry the tire compound I want?As we pride ourselves on our customer service, if the demand for a different compound is great enough we will likely begin research towards a way to fulfill that need.
-
Do the tires come with rims?DeCuzzi kart tires do not come with the rims.
